Last build for 2020, effort spent on the resin kit is almost double of the plastic kit itself.

Lightning effect of the kit is awesome, however after replaced some parts with resin kits the movability of the whole kit is a bit degraded.

[Digimon] Wargreymon (Amplified) - Bandai Figuart Standard Model Kit

 

 

Digimon is one of my favorite childhood memory, especially Wargreymon. Although the scale and the shape of the kit is quite perfect, there are so much details (seam lines, gaps, etc) needed to work on. Also many references from the internet are painted in glossy gold color, therefore tried using matte finish instead and the outcome is really nice.

 

Black Wargreymon is staying in my backlog....

Challenging kit from Kotobukiya again... Time spent on repairing the finished kit is almost the same as building it. Using glossy red with super clear top coat, while matte on black/grey parts to give a more contradictory expression. 

[Gunpla] MBF-P03 Gundam Astray Blue Frame - Nillson Work 1/60 Model

 Product of Nillson Work, also my first PG build. This kit combined some parts from Red Frame (chest, arm and Samuri Sword). The details on the kits are great, with clear panel lines. However some of the surface is not as smooth as normal Bandai kits.

Some color changes according to customer requirement, less black and more white, looks like a custom build for snow fight :D

   Noticed this kit in one of my boxes eventually, with only body painted. Got no idea on which character and even when I purchased this kit...but just finish it and place in my display.

The masking job of the scythe is killing me....

[Gunpla] MSN-02 Zeong - Bandai MG/HG plastic model kit

One of my favorite build so far, combining HG and MG Zeong. At first it is only commission on MG Zeong, but some how many inner frame parts of the MG kit broken due to ABS plastic long long ago, and turn out using HG kit as the frame, and substituting some of the parts to make the overall scale much better then before.

Many details were added, together with some custom parts and panel lines. Metal parts also make some great highlights for the kit.  

[Mecha]AV-98 Patlabor - Bandai 1/100 Plastic Model Kit

Set if 3 Patlabor together with lightning kit. Spent a long time to locate this kit since it is released back in 2001. By replacing some of the parts (shoulder and head) it can change into different Patlabor. Shading effect suit this kit very well, however since it is a rather old kit it is impossible to make too much pose. 

 

The plastic tube covering those joint look awkward at first, I tried to use lighter heating up a metal rod and slowly remove those seam lines and redo those details.

This is such a huge kit that can barely fit inside my spray booth and photo booth. Kits from Volks are relatively easy, but require more masking technique compared with Bandai Kits. Some rubber rods on the shield were replaced by metal springs.

This kit suppose can transform into another mode, however better not to do so or all the parts will be scratched...

At first I thought building this together with Bandai Providence will be a lot easier, but turn out they are very different in color and shapes. Instead of using same color scheme, I changed to clean tone and add lot of details to it, and it require massive masking job.....

Also those effect part require several layers of painting to make it looks like more real.

Comparing this kit with the DevilArt's one, the edges for this kits are a bit sharper. Though for me I prefer the DevilArts's one, some people may think that Bandai kits are more close to original. Hope you enjoy and stay tuned for the DevilArt Providence Gundam.

Really like the idea when I first saw Tallgeese Flugel. Client requested to make it more like a Roman soldier, therefore decide to change some of the color scheme accordingly. Spend most of the time on crafting the eagle logo on the wing...several layer of silver color were applied to make it less dull.

It took much longer time then I expected, especially on the shading of the white parts. Also with that excessive numbers of decals, it is really hard to strike a balance between shading details and decals.

I used 3 grey layers for the frame, though it is not so obvious and all covered by outer armours (:P), and some silver/metallic highlights. For all outer parts, all painted with light shading effect. Some minor detailed-up on the shoulder parts, leg and the backpack.

I really seldom post WIP.... especially I always forgot to take photo and just keep painting instead..

Finally got the inner frame, and white and yellow armor done, only the blue parts are remaining. I have order a special decal, so instead of using the given stickers, some beautiful decals could be applied.

Here are some quick updates on another commission work, and this is really a nice P-Bandai kit.

The main focus of the commission work was about adding more detail to it. Therefore I have made several custom parts to give it more details.

Back to work!!

It has been more then a year time since my last update! Finally got some time and updated gear, so it's time to start another work!

This is the new air compressor I brought from Japan, and it is only sold in Japan local. It is very compact in size, while the performance is similar to my previous one. The best thing is that it is a super quite one and I can even keep spraying during midnight!

 

So, the upcoming commission work is almost ready! Some water decals are still awaiting, stay tuned for more photos and updates!

Quickly assembled it within 1 night time, quite straight forward 

This is going to be my first 1:144 scale Gunpla, and need to think about the colour scheme for it.
